we did it!! there are two giddy homeowners over here...

...after 2.5 weeks of living with our parents, about 83 signatures/initials on legal documents, packing, wrapping, boxing, taping, unpacking, living our of a plastic bin, (and a lot of red wine drinking)...we are officially homeowners!  this past week has been a bit of a whirlwind, but i am beyond thankful for everything because our home is ours and a lovely one at that.

to give you a run down... 

we took possession of our very first home last saturday morning.  being pretty impatient and all, andrew and i snuck over a tad early to see if our sellers were all moved out.  a harmless drive-by wouldn't hurt, right?  there was no sign of anyone home, so we put our new key in the lock and crept up the creaky wood staircase to our 3rd floor where low and behold, the place was empty and totally OURS for the taking.  

my love and i did a little jig, smiled lots of smiles, and snuck in a couple of smooches, of course, in what we would make our new bedroom.  it was at that point that the mountain of stress that i had accumulated recently started to melt and trickle far, far away, making me feel a million times lighter and already more grounded.  we had successfully made our first major purchase and shoot, it felt really good.

as of now, we are still hanging paintings, figuring out how to store our clothes in our new (tiny) closets, breaking down boxes, filling nooks, putting pads on chair legs, and lots of random home-owner things that involve wood glue, but we are oh SO close to being settled. 

there will be many more pictures and many more memories to share with you from this beautiful little space we finally get to call home.
