*so this post is a bit of a brag. but i can't help it...because i usually never find stuff like this. so, in advance, please forgive me.*
i am beyond elated over here...bursting with joy, really, because of my latest flea market treasure.
as stella, andrew, and i were walking around last sunday early in morning my eyes were drawn to this beaut, sitting amidst some pretty awful crap. with only a little dirt on her frame, and no, i repeat, NO rust, there she sat. a 1950's vintage enamel kitchen cabinet painted white with black accents.
i mean, holy cow...it was love at first sight you guys.
and the best part, she was only $20!! as you can imagine, we immediately had a new member of our family, fitting right in with our other vintage finds from this amazing flea in the heart of downtown KC. have you seen these aluminum canisters??
i love her so much in fact that i might have to give her a name. something like, betty or frances. we got to keep her in check with her retro decade, you know.
and i'm excited to say that we have a little announcement to make later on this week....and no, it does not involve anything pregnancy. promise! but it is really neat!

SO jealous! I can never find things like this! I read all these great posts like yours about inexpensive treasures found lurking at a flea market or garage sale, but it never happens for me! What is the secret?

to be honest, i only do my thrifting at open-air markets. i feel like antique stores and places like goodwill are so full of either over-priced goods or things in horrible condition. i also never go with the intent to get anything, but rather with an open mind. that never sets me up for disappointment but allows me to see the possibilities. there are PLENTY of times i go home with nothing. if you lived in KC we'd have to go together!
