french food and the drive in

 friday evening was quite a treat!  it was one of those nights full of many firsts for baby girl, a night were andrew and i got to kick back and relax under the stars with a bottle of vino, a night we will talk about and refer to when reminiscing in the future.  'twas bliss!  and guess what, we officially declared it summer bucket list time since i only have one more week of school left, and therefore, teaching is pretty much donezo since my grading is complete.  one item down {#10} and 49 more to go! 

we started our evening by filling our hungry bellies with good food.  we scooted down to the river market to dine on the eclectic little patio of our favorite french restaurant, le fou frog.  we were eager to put miss stella to the test and let her explore lots of new foods.  baby girl is known for her ability to eat anything and everything, but their menu in particular has a few exotic ingredients, so we were a tad apprehensive to see if she would try, let alone enjoy, her dinner.  i brought along some good ol' cheerios and green beans {her latest obsession} as backups...

by the end of the meal our little lady had tried goose pate, head cheese, green olives, red pepper gazpacho, aaaaand lobster bisque.  we shared everything of ours with her and could not believe our eyes: she kept on wanting more!  andrew and i were so proud of her trying these new and unfamiliar foods, and for letting us enjoy our meals too, because you know, that doesn't always happen when we are out to eat.  not only did she try everything, to our delight, she loved every nibble and even  the "mmmm" sound after most bites.  watching our baby girl discover new things in life and then seeing that joy reflected in her smile is pretty heartwarming.

after dinner we headed to one of our favorite summer spots, the drive in!  this is where our bucket list, #10 in particular, comes into play. we packed the car with some warm blankets, folding chairs, mini charleston chews, a stocked cooler, and a happy bebe fully clad in her jammies. when we got there we had the place practically to ourselves!  andrew and i enjoyed some red vino out of these stunning plastic cups i found at none other target {pronounced tar-jay} boutique, and baby girl snuggled in with us to drink her milk of choice.

together we watched the sun go down and the dictator light up the screen.  ok, so we are amused by some weird comedy, you guys.  and as for mr. cohen, he as an awkward sense of humor that makes most people cringe and us, well, laugh.  it was a double feature, but we decide to call it a night after the first flick and head home after the firework show we spotted from the royals stadium.  i mean, could it have ended any better than that?  nope.  we hope you a beautiful weekend, too!
