truth be told, i've never been much of a morning person. growing up, i was notorious for hitting the snooze button more times than i'd like to admit. "just five more minutes" was uttered in my sleep on repeat for a better part of the hours between six and seven am. and honestly, my mornings used to start after a good cup of strong and thick spoon-coating coffee spiked with seasonal creamer and sugar. lots of sugar. a bowl of maple brown sugar oatmeal didn't hurt, either. but when you're a mama of an energetic toddler and always hungry newborn, mornings happen when they happen. coffee on the burner or not. sometimes, morning greets me just seconds before sunrise when my eyes are in need of a little coercing to open widely. and other times, mornings catch me off guard and start long after the the glow of the sun has made its presence in the back bedroom of our tree house. regardless of when my morning starts as a newly mama of two, it always involves cuddles with my littles, messy hair, and cartoons. those constants make my new favorite part of the day truly beautiful and worth waking up for.
