guess who decided at 19 months to climb out of her crib...in the dark...all by herself...without making a peep...and without injury??? i am guessing you are looking at those mischievous twinkling eyes above and have landed on one name: stella.
and you would be correct. we have entered the stage of big girl beds and no nap times on weekends. now that our little one can scale her crib in the dark hours of the night we have decided to take the railing off and make her a full-blown toddler bed, for her falling on the hardwoods just scares the crap out of us. all of this being said, it's a bit chaotic over here and we are going with the flow to best wiggle into a comfortable routine for all parties involved. and presumably, we are a bit more alert whist sleeping across the hall and consequently, are sporting some wicked dark circles under our eyes. i'm talking alerts as in sleeping with one eye open and ready for the door to creek open with a tiny tot and her extreme bed head standing there ready to climb on in for a stella sandwich. like you see below. because that has happened like 4 times already.
(photo ^ compliments of an adoring dada and husband. side bar: check out my crazy sleeping position. weird, huh?)
have any of your littles learned this not so wonderful trick of climbing out of their cribs?

aw. this is the best. ronin climbs out randomly, but not tooooo often. haha. i'm thinking when we make our move in 2 weeks we will transition to a toddler bed. may need some tips. ha. xo.
ReplyDeletethat smile whaen she climbed into your bed. arww, soo cute! i remember the twin getting in my bed at least once a week...
ReplyDeleteCruz has been waking up at 4:30 am regularly. We put him in bed with us this morning and within minutes, have this little person whispering 'tickle, tickle, tickle' in this high-pitched, attempt-to-sound-sweet-and-innocent voice. It sure is interesting when they can get in and out of bed themselves :).
ReplyDeleteRemember when they were brand new and we would listen for every breath in the middle of the night? Seems like forever ago...
And just wait little mama - potty training is coming. It's a scary thing ;).
luckily Shelby hasn't attempted this! she is 2 years old now (26 months). I think she is so short that she won't even try it! I am hoping to keep her in the crib as long as possible, ha! Good luck merging into a toddler bed routine!
ReplyDeleteEthan is 18 months and has no desire to even try to get out of his crib. I'm so nervous about it because all of my friends children have started trying, eep!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the sleeping picture, haha. So cute!
oo my life i giggled soo hard at your sleeping position just then!! brill!
