little fingers

ever since stella was itty bitty she has had really good hand coordination.  i mean, so good, that at 5 weeks premature and barely 5 pounds, she could pull out her feeding tubes and iv all on her own while in the nicu.  she got so sneaky at it that her nurses had get crafty and put her tubes where she could not find them.  the last resort was on top of her head.  what a little stinker she was {and still is} and i love her for that. 

recently she has been using her little fingers to do big girl things.  while this makes me happy, it is bittersweet because that means my baby girl is getting older, and bigger, and not so itty bitty any more! 

nevertheless, i just love the way stella picks up her gerber banana puffs, one by one, very meticulously in her big girl chair.  i don't know what is more precious than seeing her sweet little mouth form an "ooo" sound as she proceeds to pinch her puff treats and place them in her mouth.  i also love how she turns the pages in her books when we read together and the way she rubbs her blankie when she starts to get tired. i also fancy how my little miss grips those little fingers oh so tight on the sides of her crib, and most recently, daddy's card holder when we are out to eat.  stella's little fingers just make me smile.
