i have been pinning colorful banners and yarn-inspired projects like cuh-razy on pinterest as of late, so i grabbed the chance to run to hobby lobby by myself this morning to get some crafts. check out how i put the final touches on baby girl's nursery!
4 materials:
...yarn: check
...felt: check
...glue gun: check
...cardboard letter: check
nursery banner diy:
1. trace triangles on yarn
2. cut out triangles
3. use glue gun to glue triangles onto yarn string
4. let dry & hang :)
after 15 minutes of tracing, cutting, and gluing, my banner was complete! stella watched my over the couch while on daddy's shoulder's the entire time. i adore the whimsical feel and simplicity of this design. it also makes me feel good that this project was under $10 for she whole kit and caboodle {and i still have a lot of materials left over}! for the felt, i chose colors that would pop against her light blue wall behind her crib. mustard, tangerine, turquoise, & polka dot confetti made for a perfect combination. stella is almost 10 months old, and project nursery is finally complete! {i will post more pictures later in a nursery tour.}
yarn letter DIY
1. wrap yarn around cardboard letter
2. hang :)
seriously, that's it. anyone, and i mean anyone can do this do it yourself project. this has to be the easiest diy ever because all you do it wrap and wrap and wrap. i used green ombre yarn for the banner's string and for this "s" letter. i like how the color fades from white to lime to mint and back again. i hope you can use some of these ideas to craft up your casa! have fun :)

I like your project and I LOVE the picture of Stella watching from the couch...melts my heart ♥
ReplyDeleteshe was so sweet watching me over his shoulders. she would lay her head on the back of the couch and just stare :)
ReplyDeleteLove this idea! My son's name is Soren and I just recently bought an 'S' letter for his room... I think the yarn around it would look awesome! Very cute blog:)
ReplyDeleteI know this post is for a nursery, but I'm going to make some of these for myself! The banner - AH! I'm really into nautical themes in my dorm room at school (coming from a coastal town) and a banner with navy/white striped triangles, light yellow, and light blue would look SO CUTE! Thanks for the tutorial!
