"a portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2013."

stella: she prefers to dress herself these days.  i do not mind one bit.  in fact, i prefer it.  it makes mornings much easier for me because miss decisive knows what she wants and nowadays needs minimal help to put it on.  hoorah!  as of late, she has been all about those wellies, rain or shine.  more often times than not, they are on backwards.  i adore this.  earlier on this week in her sweetest granny getup she accompanied to me trader joe's for a whole bunch of groceries.  it took us me five trips to lug them up to our third floor and was more exercise than i have had in a good while.  she sat amusingly on the very top of our staircase humming a little tune as i emulated a pack mule for about fifteen minutes.

baby boy: we have officially entered our third trimester, you guys.  how did that happen?  i cannot believe how fast this pregnancy is going.  there are many aspects of pregnancy i really enjoy, and naturally, others i do not.  this past week brought with it many braxton hicks contractions.  they have been appearing far too often in my opinion and tend to take my breath away at times.  this is a bit concerning to me since our stella bear was five weeks early.  despite taking progesterone shots, i fear our little guy wants to come early, too.  i am trying to do a better job of listening to my body and resting as much as possible.  stay in there sweet boy!  you have much much more to accomplish before your due date in october.

  3. I was lucky enough to never get Braxton Hicks contractions, I can imagine, besides being painful, being a tad scary.
