since our home is quite small, we knew even before finding out that we were pregnant we would be sharing a room with our second born for the first part of their life. we are looking forward to having our baby close by and we happen to find his nook irresistibly darling.
i will be breastfeeding again, so having him close will be great help to me in the middle of the night. i remember those sleepless evenings all too well. and another reason we are keeping him close by, besides the tininess of our home and the whole breastfeeding thing, is that we are not ready to have our littles share a room yet. we want our tiny gent to be sleeping through the night and stella out of her toddler bed before we have them share. AND, i am pretty aware of what two year olds are capable of. having a precious newborn in her quarters alone scares the hell out of me. just keeping it honest here.

little man will be sleeping in his great grandmother's tiny wooden crib with lovely bedding that his sis is so kindly letting him borrow. i got it at target about three years ago upon finding out we were pregnant with stella. i think it will suit him nicely in the cool winter months. i must say, it means a lot to us that he gets to use this special crib. it has been passed throughout andrew's family and is a very meaningful piece.
i made a trip to goodwill in waldo recently (surprised?) and found some beautiful woven bowls to collect some of his odds and ends to store in our room. the bowl by his bed is stocked with booties and beanies we've gathered throughout the past few months. i am sure i will rearrange things a little as time goes by, but it means so much to have his space set up and ready to go. it makes things seem more real. it makes me more giddy. i am so ready to meet our boy. but for now, i will just stare at his space and smile with patience.

I am so happy to see that there is another family out there with a small house...with no room to spare! My second little boy is due in October and we will be faced with the same space issue. I have a bassinet for the first few months, but will have to search out a nice small crib like this one for later. Lovely space!
ReplyDeleteoh our space is very very small, but that's kind of our favorite thing about it! and less to clean, too! congrats on your second boy. having our little ones with us will make for some beautiful memories. hope you are enjoying your sunday.

The bedding in the crib is amazing, and the crib is too. I started following you on Instagram recently, and now got a chance to read your blog. It's been fun watching you prepare for baby, and you look smashing! I wish I looked half as good pregnant.
