oh, helloooo there! goodness, it's been awhile, no? this poor little blog has been a wee bit neglected as of late. i kind of feel bad about it. but to be completely honest with you, writing and cooking and crafting and taking pictures and such has been the absolute last thing on this mama's mind.
pregnancy is pretty hard on me. i wish it was a walk in the park with a few obvious complaints here and there, but just as it was with miss stella, it's been a really rough go so far. the constant headaches and intense bouts of fatigue have taken me off guard this time around, adding to the list of symptoms i suffer from. with stella, i had severe nausea everyday, all day, having to take a tricky cocktail of meds to allow me to teach and not lay in bed. luckily, i knew what meds worked from last time and got an early start taking them. that's been a silver lining no doubt.
here i am at almost three months along and things are finally start to be ease up. whew. i am starting to feel more like myself and i cannot be more thrilled about it. i miss being able to do all of the things i did before being pregnant...keeping up with stella and cooking being two of things i miss most. but that's slowly changing. last night i made my first "real" meal in what has been about two months! sure it was only boiled ravioli from trader joes topped with lemon butter with peas and parmesan cheese, but it felt like a victory and made me pretty proud. :)
as a lover of food, it's been sad to me that food in general (along with trying new restaurants and concocting new recipes) has been cast aside as something i only need to get by. i mean, i love food! like really, really enjoy it, so having food aversions is pretty miserable, to say the least. most days it's maple brown sugar oatmeal, cinnamon cereal, lots of fruit (we bought a juicer!), and a PB&J sandwich (or three). if you give me meat or garlic i might just have to tell you to bugger off!
and then there are the sleeping pills that help me get through a night without getting sick. thank you, thank you unisom. you rock.
because i am feeling a bit better, starting this weekend i will be posting more regularly with lots more exciting news to share with you all. i think a warm chai latte and my computer on our front porch tomorrow morning is just what i need to get back on track...
until then, i want to thank you for your patients and kind words about baby #2!
xx, amanda

I'm glad you're starting to feel better! I'm so excited for you little family with baby number two. Are you going to reveal the gender of the baby? This is so exciting :)
ReplyDeleteI love your blog so much! I hope that pregnancy gets easier :)
ReplyDeleteI feel for you mama! I had horrible all day nausea for 3 months when I was pregnant with Amelie and couldn't stomach things like rubbish bins without gagging. But then it randomly went away overnight and I felt normal again. So it's a very good sign you're starting to feel better, sure once the spring properly sets in that'll help too. And woohoo for baby no 2! xx
ReplyDeleteGlad you are back, friend! I hope you continue to feel more energized as the days go on!
ReplyDeleteLove your posts. Hope you're feeling more like yourself soon! x
ReplyDeleteYay! A blog post from my favorite daughter :) Even though we talk all the time I miss reading your blog when it's away for too long!
ReplyDeleteGreat to read your blog again and have an update about you and your pregnancy. It's also nice to know that you'll be on the next trimester and be on your normal routine and life will be easier again. Have a safe pregnancy all the way and hugs to Stella.:)
