a recipe // grapefruit cooler
i have been drooling over the west elm market citrus juicer for the past few months. a week ago or so we took the plunge and it has been so worth it. with this juicer, we have been making grapefruit coolers, blood orange limeade, and fresh squeezed lemon orange juice on lazy saturday mornings to get us going. so refreshing and healthy. i have also been using our juicer to add a kick to smoothies and sauces when making dinner. i put some blood oranges in the dressing for this recipe. i really don't think we will buy oj from a box again, especially when i can get a bag of oranges from costco for like nothing and make juice that tastes like heaven.
here is a grapefruit cooler i made the other day. below you can find the recipe for a whole batch if you are entertaining, but i just made one glass for mahself and sort of guessed on portions. it turned out great.
ingredients:
3.5 cups of fresh grapefruit juice
1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice
3 tablespoons of lime juice
1/2 cup of sugar
4 cups of club soda, chilled
just stir everything together and enjoy cold.
oh, and don't forget to add a splash or two of tequila or vodka if you aren't pregs like me!
