mama's day

my very first mama's day was a wonderful one indeed!  i am so blessed to be this baby's mama.  our day together started off pretty swell.  my lovely mister let me sleep in while he made breakfast for his ladies - scrambled eggs with cheese per request of stell who has been loving them lately.  when i woke up i was greeted with a warm plate of food, a card with two love letters, pink roses, my new favorite perfume, aaaaand a clean kitchen!  husband sure knows what this mama appreciates, and those letters alone made my day.  after laying around getting attacked with numerous kisses by baby girl, we ventured off to the nelson-atkins museum park for the afternoon.

in the midst of many families we had a lemonade picnic, and did lots people watching.  there was a man doing flips,  many kiddos running around chasing each other, and good lordy, families just kept on comin' droves!  they all seemed to be having fun playing games, reading, and laughing with one another.  it was neat to see all the love out there.  it was baby girl's first time to this park, and like all outdoor places, she loved every second of it, even getting brave enough to sit in the grass all by herself!  well, only for a few seconds...but we are getting there people!  spread out on our tiny quilt, we also tried on each other's sun glasses which gave baby girl a few giggles.  that photo of stella rockin' the shades + her paci is pretty darn cute, if you ask me.  does this remind anyone of carlos, no?  before we left, dada threw her up in the air by the shuttlecock art, and oh, did she squeal!  her little squeal gets me every time, and it's only a squeal her dada can muster.

it is really amazing how this little family of mine continues to make my heart swell.  i hope all mamas, future mamas, mama-in-laws, mama figures, and grandmamas out there had a beautiful day.

cheers to you!
