yay!!! daddy is home from atlanta! as always, we missed him so much. these business trips are hard on all of us. and it's not really the weekend with out the four of us lying around being goofy together. my lady, leon and i did have a chance to spend some time just chillin before we picked him up saturday afternoon.
on friday night, stella and i spent our time together reading, eating {aka. storing puffs under her chin}, being silly, and you know...all the fun things you get to do with a newly-mobile baby. she played soooo hard that she feel asleep sitting up amidst all her toys, no joke. i wish i could do that. oh, and she can stand all by her little self!!! we truly have so many moments to celebrate :) and as for leon, he was his oh so serious self...
by the way, we are sleep training. as you can imagine, i was a little freaked out with daddy not being there to help. i thought it was going to one of those nights where it's 10:30 pm and baby girl is still wanting to stay up as to not miss anything. that is part of her personality we love {the curiousness and wanting to be in the center of it all} but it can make bedtime quite difficult. but guess what!?!? i put her down after a warm bath and full bottle at 8:30 pm, and by 9:00 pm...she had put hersself to sleep. good job stella, i am so proud of you! there was no crying. no fussing. nada!
so i took advantage of this strange quietness and i poured myself a a glass of vino, lit my favorite candle, and turned on netflix to watch some foreign films that had been in my que for a few months. oh, and it was raining outside which made the evening the pure essence of relaxation.
then on saturday stella and i hung around in our jammies until we absolutely had to get ready to go to the market. the market on a saturday was a bad, bad, bad idea on my part. i totally forgot about the superbowl and the big rivalry game in kansas city {i can't even tell you who was playing} but the place was overly packed. and to boot, i'm a little claustrophobic when it comes to situations like that. so we hurried.
{sidebar: i love trader joes, but seriously...they need to bigger carts to fit car seats. us mamas could use the help! stella ended up riding in the cart {leaving me no room for groceries} and then i carried a basket, which seemed to hit everyone we passed by. yeah, that was frustrating.}
after that nightmare, we picked up daddy at the airport and smiled and kissed, and blah, blah, blah, all the mushy things you do when you miss your spouse.
we got home, made some pizza, caught up on each other's weeks, and then watched some californication.

sunday morning, baby girl rolled around in bed while we tried to get an extra few minutes of shut eye. she talked and talked the entire time. this girl cracks me up. "bababamamama....ooooh." that's her go-to phrase as of late. it's so stinkin' cute! after realizing there was no way that these miracle minutes of sleep were going to happen, we decided to be at least a little productive on the last day of our weekend. andrew cleaned the entire condo, i'm not kidding, and i made some spicy chili. we are good team that way. stella looked at her new books {which she is still doing right now} and leon raced around every stationary object in our living room.
