everyday is love day

so a bug of sorts has plagued our home for the past two days.  therefore, v-day has been, well, postponed.  our planned meal of red heart-shaped pancakes and sparkling wine just didn't sound very appetizing to my hubby who was quite under the weather.  it was more like saltines and sprite on the menu.  

so miss stella and mama sent our man many love vibes and air kisses from the other room, and let him get some much needed rest on valentines night.  i ate a giant toblerone and read madeline about ten times to baby girl.  together we rocked and rocked until she fell asleep in my arms.  oh, how i love you, my sweet little valentine.  

andrew and i swore that tomorrow, yes, tomorrow we would celebrate love day and all would be swell.  well, what do ya know?  i woke up the next morning {this morning}, in stella's room {co-sleeping with our snuggle bunny on her pullout...shhhhh don't tell!} and felt icky all over.  great.  just awesome.  

there we were, at 6:00 am having the "do we take her to the sitter or not?" debate.  take her we did, with her new sock monkey friend, for fear that she would catch what we had.  that would just break our hearts. there is nothing worse than a sick bebe.  

for better or worse...in sickness and in health...that was what we honored this valentine's day.  it was not glamorous, nor was it fancy-shmancy.  but it was real.  and loving.  and full of what matters most.  i'm thinking a random future february v-day celebration is in store!  if not, it's okay because every day, no matter how icky we are feeling, is love day.  and that's the truth!
