thank's bill.

i am most certain that many of us here in the blogging world have a passion, somewhere in the depths of our beings if not bubbling to the surface, for writing.  sure, we are capturing and cataloging and sharing our lives via quickly edited iPhone photos (or maybe that's just me) as we publicly journal, but writing is a major component of our spaces.  i found this little nugget you see above on pinterest and was pretty astonished by all that mister shakespeare has given us and our beautifully complex language.  he sure has a "heart of gold," that one.

if you are like me, you have fun with words.  you like mixing them up in silly concoctions that either (a) ends up unraveling like a silk ribbon, rather gracefully or (b) and most usually, like a thud of mud falling off the bottom of one's dirty boot.  just sitting there impressing no one.  mine is usually the latter.  but i digress.

writing is fun.  it's messy.  it allows us to explore ourselves and sometimes, if we are lucky, better appreciate ourselves.  writing evokes laugher and passion and creativity.  it lets us color outside of the lines of life without scold and relish in the tinge of rebellion stirred up in stringing together a poetic verse.  writing, my friends, is beauty to a T.

so, in honor of bill, i think he would be okay with me calling him that, cheers to words and to bringing people together because of them.  thanks to you for reading mine when you happen to hop over here.  and thank you, blog friends, for letting me read yours too.  you have no idea how much i appreciate them.

  6. Shakespeare's affect on our language is just amazing. And all those people who knock him clearly have no idea what a huge amount of their everyday speech they owe to him and his wizardry with words.
Couldn't agree more about the beauty of words. Blogging is such a fantastic platform for just practising that love of words.

And I always kind of think he'd have been a Will rather than a Bill......! :)
