five of my favs: mint edition

spring is almost here and that means only one thing, it's mint madness!  as of late i have been obsessed with all things mint green.  usually when the warm weather starts to roll in, i crave bright pastels and refreshingly cool hues when it comes to my wardrobe and even in my meals.  oh, and st. patty's day {which is right around the corner} plays perfectly into this little obsession of mine.  look out shamrock shakes!  here are 5 of my current mint inspirations to get this spring party started!

#1. i scored some mint green hair bows at h&m for miss stella the other day.  her hair is long enough to fit a little bow.  how cute is this? {why yes...she is teething on her crib...} and hey...check out those mint walls. love. love. love.

#2.i am loving the look of the mint cabinets in this kitchen soooo much that i have decided {with exciting encouragement from andrew} to paint our bar stools in our kitchen mint green over spring break!  how awesome is my husband?  i adore how fresh and clean this color makes the space below look.

#3.this is my all-time fav "cup of joe" thermos; a staple for my often chaotic mornings.  this lovely cup travels with me around our apartment in the wee hours of the morning and eventually to with me off to teach.  what i love most about it is how often it reminds me of the little cafe andrew and i lived above back in cedar falls called cup of joe.  we were lucky enough to live above this cafe in college, which we still swear was our favorite place to live to date, even though we had no closets, no dishwasher, a super-creaky floor, and smaller-than-closet-sized bedroom.  it was too adorable for words.  we frequented the cafe below so much that one day we opened up a tab...an amazingly bad idea.  that is when my love affair for vanilla soy lattes started...and i am afraid will never end.

#4.minty fashion has me totally, undeniably, smitten.  i love these playful color combinations and girly details, especially when paired with bold hues, like fire red or hot pink.  totally, stinkin', adorable.

#5. it's time to get literal with this whole mint thing and talk about herbs.  that's right, herbs.  mint is one of my favorite ingredients to use in salads and pastas during spring and summer.  this salad is wonderful all by itself, but also pairs beautifully along side your preferred seafood.  i have made it with scallops and it's drop-to-your-knees-delicious.

stay tuned to see our minty barstools...
